King Soopers/City Market Urges UFCW Local 7 to Continue Bargaining

January 8th, 2022

As part of our continued effort to reach a peaceful agreement, yesterday the company reached out to UFCW Local 7 and requested dates to continue to bargain immediately. We’ve also asked the union to agree to a federal mediator to help both parties work through issues as we continue to negotiate.

We know our associates may feel uncertainty as the union continues to push for a strike. King Soopers/City Market is committed to working with the union and fully available to meet and reach a peaceful agreement for our associates.

Your store leader has a copy of the letter we sent to Local 7 president Kim Cordova.

If you want to vote on our Comprehensive Best Offer or have the union to continue to bargain, you can reach out to the Local 7 offices or your business agent. We have heard that associates are frustrated because the union is not answering the phone and has shut off its fax machine. You can voice your concerns with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and with the news media. Contact information for the union, NLRB and media are located here.

As always, we will keep you updated through your store leader, on FEED and posted to store bulletin boards. You can also find negotiations updates and download our Comprehensive Best Offer to Settle for Clerks and Meat. If you have any questions, please talk to your store leader, or email your questions to
