Denver, CO (February 05, 2025) – While King Soopers is disappointed with UFCW Local 7’s insistence on a premature strike, the Company will continue to deliver on its responsibility to serve the community with access to fresh food and pharmacy services.
The Company respects associates’ rights to peacefully protest and asks for the same respect for associates who choose to work as well as for customers who choose to shop at their stores during the work stoppage.
King Soopers is committed to keeping all stores open during the work stoppage, with impacted locations running on temporary hours. Impacted stores will be open from 7am – 8pm daily and pharmacies at impacted locations will operate Monday – Friday from 9am – 7pm and Saturday from 10am – 5pm, (closing daily for lunch from 1-130pm) and closed on Sundays.
Non-impacted stores will maintain regular store and pharmacy hours and include all stores in the following areas:
Additionally, the following two locations in Thornton will not be impacted:
Customers are also welcome to use the Company’s delivery services by shopping online at www.kingsoopers.com/delivery. Standard delivery fees will be waived on orders over $35, between February 6 -18, 2025 – customers will need to clip a digital coupon to claim this offer.
“We have a responsibility to our associates and communities to ensure they have access to fresh food and other essentials,” said Joe Kelley, President of King Soopers. “We stand behind our Last Best and Final Offer – it helps us balance wage investments with keeping groceries affordable, while meaningfully investing in our associates.”
King Soopers is already a leader in retail wages, with associates currently earning an average hourly rate of $22.68. When factoring in healthcare and pension benefits, associates receive a total compensation package equivalent to $29.48 per hour.
The Company’s Last Best and Final Offer builds on these wages in the following ways:
King Soopers continues to urge the Union to do what is right for associates and the community by returning to the bargaining table to get a deal done. The truth is this labor stoppage takes valuable time away from the negotiation process and leads to further delays in increasing associate wages.
