At King Soopers, we understand how important this contract is for you and your family, and we remain fully committed to reaching a fair and timely agreement with UFCW Local 7. That’s why we’re pushing the Union to schedule more bargaining dates as soon as possible.

Union Delays Are Holding Up Progress
On February 28, 2025, we asked the Union across the table to meet during the weeks of March 3 and March 10 to continue discussions and move towards reaching an agreement. Instead, we were told that Local 7 leaders were busy both weeks with other matters. The Union did offer three single days for bargaining during the entire month of March—March 21st, 25th, or 27th. However, these dates are nearly a full month out from our last bargaining session.

This delay needlessly stalls progress—further delaying the wage increases you deserve.

On Wednesday, March 5th, we made another request to the Union to find earlier, consecutive bargaining dates in hopes of making meaningful progress.

Every Day Without a Contract Delays Your Pay Increase
What matters to you matters to King Soopers. We’re sharing this information because we believe you have a right to know why the Company and Union are not meeting to bargain your new contract. We understand that many associates may be concerned that every day without a contract is a day without the pay increases you have earned.

As dues paying members, the Union has a responsibility to represent your interests. If you believe waiting a month between bargaining sessions is too long, talk to your Union representative and ask that Local 7 leaders prioritize negotiating your contract.

Esfuerzos para impulsar al sindicato a priorizar la negociación

En King Soopers, entendemos lo importante que es este contrato para usted y su familia, y seguimos plenamente comprometidos a llegar a un acuerdo justo y oportuno con el sindicato de Trabajadores de Alimentos y Comercio (United Food & Commercial Workers, UFCW) Local 7. Por ese motivo, estamos impulsando al sindicato a programar más fechas de negociación lo antes posible.

Los retrasos sindicales están obstaculizando el progreso
El 28 de febrero de 2025, le pedimos al sindicato que se reuniera durante las semanas del 3 y el 10 de marzo para continuar las conversaciones y avanzar para llegar a un acuerdo. Sin embargo, nos dijeron que los líderes del Local 7 debían ocuparse de otros asuntos en ambas semanas. El sindicato propuso tres días para las negociaciones durante todo el mes de marzo: el 21, el 25 o el 27 de marzo. No obstante, estas fechas son casi un mes después de nuestra última sesión de negociación. Esta demora obstaculiza innecesariamente el progreso y retrasa aún más los aumentos salariales que usted merece.

El miércoles 5 de marzo, presentamos otra solicitud al sindicato para acordar fechas de negociación anteriores y consecutivas, con la esperanza de lograr un progreso significativo.

Cada día sin un contrato implica un retraso en su aumento salarial
Lo que es importante para usted también es importante para King Soopers. Compartimos esta información con usted porque creemos que tiene derecho a saber por qué la empresa y el sindicato no se reúnen para negociar su nuevo contrato. Entendemos que a muchos asociados les puede preocupar que cada día sin un contrato implique un día más sin los aumentos salariales que han ganado.

Como miembros que pagan cuotas, el sindicato tiene la responsabilidad de representar sus intereses. Si cree que esperar un mes entre las sesiones de negociación es demasiado, hable con su representante sindical y solicite que los líderes del Local 7 prioricen la negociación de su contrato.
